The Breakdown

Livin on coffee and stale doughnuts
While travelin’ the open road
My truck broke down in Louisiana
And I had to have it towed

I cried and cried into my coffee
There was no one I could call
My girlfriend said it was over
Because she saw her ex at the mall

Ooooh life just ain’t that easy
For a poor boy like me
So I sit here alone in the bar
With the flickering marquee

Hey bartender gimme a shot of whiskey
I need to drown my pain away
My truck has one foot in the grave
And my girl just left me today

Why does life seem so hopeless
Will I ever be one step ahead
Or will I always be a little behind
If so I’d rather be dead

Ooooh life just ain’t that easy
For a poor boy like me
So I sit here alone in the bar
With the flickering marquee

Livin’ on coffee and stale doughnuts….life just ain’t that easy….ooohh
