Tears in a Bottle

The tears are bottled deep inside,
It’s the safest place for them to hide.
They’re all stopped up just like a levee,
Making my chest feel oh so heavy.

I keep them there to mask the pain,
And on my heart they often strain.
The inner torment is hard to bare,
But i’ve determined to keep them there.

At some point, I know, the bottle will break,
And from this horrid nightmare I’ll awake.
From that day on they will freely flow,
And my emotions, I will be able to show.
