How do you love when you aren’t sure how,
When your whole life it wasn’t allowed?
How does one feel a tender embrace,
When all they’ve known was a smack in the face?
How do you receive loving words spoken,
When all you’ve heard left you broken?
How does one think they can reach the stars,
When all they have are emotional scars?
How do you heal all of this pain,
When you feel like you are going insane?
Is there a hope that all of this will fade,
And for once in my life i’ll no longer be afraid?
Christ is the hope in a world full of hurt.
He will lift you up when you feel like dirt.
Lean on Him for His mercy never ends,
He holds you close and comfort He sends.
